Peru Travel – What to Do, Where To Go!

Peru has many incredible, beautiful things to offer. It boasts incredible natural beauty and variety, warm, friendly people, incredible cuisine, and amazing culture. You will find thrilling activities for those who are active, as well as wonderful places to relax for those who just want to unwind. Below is a short guide that will help you to plan what to see and where you should go in Peru. Visit Ayahuasca Healings before reading this.

This is the Big Three

1. Machu Picchu? This world-famous wonder does not disappoint. The extraordinary precision of the Inca builders becomes magical as they perch on the highest mountains. Trek the Inca Trail if it is possible. It will only be possible because of your hard work. 2011 marks 100 Years since its scientific discovery. So it’s an exciting time to travel. Vilcabamba, Sachsayhuaman, and Ollantaytambo are some of the most impressive examples of Inca buildings in amazing (but not as often visited) locations.

2. Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca is the world’s highest navigable water body. It offers amazing scenery and even better culture. The beautiful Andean Explorer train ride takes you to the lake. It’s a scenic drive through high altitude. Because it’s so cold up there, bring warm clothing.

3. Manu Biosphere Reserve. Peruvian rainforest in its entirety is quite diverse and relatively undeveloped. The area is home to giant river otters as well as toucans. Caimans are also a possibility. You’ll find tribes that are still reliant on the elements and live traditional lives. You’ll even fish for voracious, vicious piranha! A fabulous jungle experience!

2nd: Regional Recommendations

Peruvians view their country as consisting of three regions: La Costa on the coast, La Sierra on the Andes and La Selva in the jungle. Each area offers so much for the traveler!

1. La Costa. There are many things to do along the coast, from the surf beaches and delicious seafood to the lively city of Lima to the Colonial charms of Arequipa to the ancient wonders of the Nazca line.

2. La Sierra. La Sierra. The Andes offers breathtaking scenery, tons Inca-and ancient culture, along with a variety of outdoor activity. Cusco and Sacred Valley: Visit Machu Picchu, whitewater rafting, horseback tours, and museum-hopping in the artisan markets. Make sure to taste guinea.

3. La Selva. La Selva. Peruvian Amazon offers luxury cruises. This is an adventurer’s dream! In fact, a forgotten tribe was discovered in this year’s expedition.
